Hello my friends, I decided today to start a blog about my fascinating cats, Sorpress and Duchess. When my elder son, who studies Spanish in Alsun University, Cairo, since October 2010, came back home in Alexandria Egypt, in his first weekend as a student, he brought me a furry surprise gift, Sorpress, a reminder of this event (surprise is sorpressa in Spanish,but we had to delete the final a when we found out that is actually a tomcat). As I had no clue about his ancestors, I attempted to identify his breed on the Internet. I could never find all the treats of a certain breed in him, so it took me a while to understand the uniqueness of my tomcat, as he is the cutest tomcat ever that could teach men a lesson or two. But about it, later on. I gradually discovered that my dear tomcat encompasses all the desired qualities in a cat. He took from the Turkish Angora the love for water, the plumed tail even though it is much taller and thicker, the ear-hair tufts, it is playful, inteligent, tander, devouted, elegant, and very graceful. He shares with Persian cats his more full and coarse at the end hair, his larger head, with less pointed ears, his closeness and affection to owners, friendliness towards strangers, cleanliness, predictability, vocalization and fussiness over food. He is very good at climbing as he has very strong claws, has a very high amount of energy and can be very demanding of attention just like a Norwegian Forest Cat, but has the ruff under the neck and the body size of a Maine Coon. And above all, he is a flame-point,white with traces of cappuccino over his back. Duchess, his sweet-heart is a typical Turkish Angora with golden eyes, with not so aristocratic table manners (she takes bites of the processed cheese while Sorpress licks it). The most special thing about her is that she is carrying Sorpress' offspring. I can't wait to see his babies.
